BJ-Gears has many product variants. With their new product configurator, which is integrated with the company's CAD solution, customers can create their own composition and see the selected product variant - even combinations that have not been sold before.

The new product configurator not only improves the customer experience, but also gives BJ-Gear a significant competitive advantage.

As Mathias Lundquist , eCommerce Manager at BJ-Gear explains: ‘What's special about the product configurator we've created with 9altitudes is that it's powered by our ERP system. We have 6 products, 350 million variants. The ERP controls the product configurator in our webshop so that our customers, engineers, machine builders, buyers can go in, configure their own gear or transmission solution, download a STEP file, see the price, see when we can ship the item to them and buy the item directly in the webshop.’

To handle the many product variants, the product configurator is also integrated with the company's CAD system. This allows customers to see visualisations of product variants that have not yet been purchased before.

Mathias Lundquist elaborates: ‘Drawing tasks that previously took an employee several years to complete are suddenly something we can do in a couple of days.’

A new ERP solution that supports business growth

BJ-Gear and 9altitudes have successfully implemented a new ERP solution based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. The solution streamlines many of the company's processes through several add-on modules to Dynamics 365.

9A Integrations is used to handle all integrations in and out of the ERP. The module provides great time savings on API development. For example, it only took 35 hours to integrate with Struct PIM.

9A Document Creation and Distribution is used to manage BJ-Gear's internal and external documents and templates. This gives BJ-Gear a central source for all communication in ERP, where it is also easy for BJ-Gear to correct and update their templates themselves.

Similarly, BJ-Gear also has add-on modules that streamline their freight management and invoice workflows, which means that several of the company's processes have been evaluated and streamlined through the collaboration. Mathias Lundquist says that ‘the new ERP solution has been the guiding factor in their business development.
